Right now, laser makes no sense for exhibitors. 10 years down the road when it's time to replace your series 2 projectors? Likely.

The last numbers I heard, and it was some time ago and likely speculation then, was in the low-to-mid $50s to upgrade an existing Series 2 Barco.

If that turns out to be the case, I'll probably upgrade my largest machine. It puts an adequate picture on my 86-foot screen, but not as popping as the next smaller machine does on my 60-footers.

I will probably not upgrade the smaller machines. At those numbers, there really isn't a payback for me, and I don't need any more light on those screens.

I just got back from Barco training school in Rancho Cordova, Califirnia this week. We were told in class that Barco will have two major announcements at Cinemacon next week. One being a laser projector, (although not the simple "swap the lamphouse module" on the B series projectors that we had all hoped for), and the other probably being a Barco IMS for their projectors.
