Or you could try to get a classic or something that's been around for awhile. Don't let the distributors force you to give up your family friendly policy.

reissuing PG films like Monsters in 3-D is not a plan that will work.

Monsters 3D would have been best saved for Jan but look at Dec. Overall I am up for the year but my Dec will be the worst since 2003.

In my six screen we are playing five R rated movies right now.....

Jeez, talk about audience overlap

My Jan/Feb schedule is as follows
Now (Life of Pi)
Jan 25 (Jack Reacher)
Feb 1 (Parental Guidance)
Feb 8 (Django)
Feb 15 (Les Miserables)
Feb 22 (Zero Dark 30)

We always try to stay in the PG-13 range, but this season it is difficult so we are just trying to go every other weekend with the best R available hopefully we won't offend to many.

We've been doing well with Wreck-It Ralph, but we're second-run. As far as I know, all second-run joints in the area have done quite well with it. Does it work to bring a title like that back to a first-run theatre?

Also, I'm actually excited about getting Monsters Inc. 3D when it comes available to us. The timing was bad for first run, but we'll get it (I think) when there are no other kid-friendly titles out there.

Based upon the lackluster reception for Monsters, Inc in 3D, Disney has now postponed indefinitely the re-release of The Little Mermaid in 3D which had been scheduled for this September 13, 2013. Have to wonder if they will even bother with Mermaid. There is such a thing as one too many trips to the well.

And as further evidence of the desperation .... one family friendly in my area which opens Hanzel & Gretal Witch Hunters this Friday is advertising it as PG-13 although it is rated R.

That may be true. However, I've done that myself several times over the years. If you don't check before you set the ads up, it's not that hard to do.

Does this theatre have a habit of putting up wrong ratings?
