GDC ain't done yet. sold out show of family matinees could not start and then took almost 30 minutes to restart. I am soooooooooo sick of this great new thing. And the GDC guy says "the upgrade wasn't really working. Maybe we need to upgrade again?"

Sounds like a lemon in the works.

A friend of mine converted his drive-in last year. Went through the whole first season with nary a blink. Running Barco 32B and GDC server.

We have Christie's and it is the GDC servers trying to be upgraded to be DCI. They said "the upgrade was not ready yet".....

Sat matinee of Lincoln would not start. Figured out that they'd sent us a new key on Friday night for Sat. Why? Who knows. But there should be a screen that says all shows are keyed and ready. One hour later, restarts, etc. etc.

I have been having the same problems. Ever since the October "must have update" we have had problems. First it was the douser and then that was updated and now more problems. We had shows just quit in the middle of the show for no reason. Finally found out that there are problems with bulbs now. I had one last for 1400 hours (warranty for 2400) and another $1200 4000k bulb that lasted only 350 hours. Then the show was skipping and pausing like a skipping dvd. I guess a bad drive. I figure I have had to give out over 100 passes since then. I now have the lasted and greatest update and its been fine so far, but I am sure something will pop up.

without a true techie on staff you will be completely screwed. A 35mm projectionist was a completely different kind of skill set. The new projectionist has to be computer savvy techie above all else.
