Unless you live in Manhattan all is lost. The rest of NY, NJ and Staten Island is leveled. It looks like a war zone. I am in the beach Comunity of Rocakway Beach Queens and everything has been lost. I lost everything, Housing, car and everything else that makes normal every day living.
It has been a week and were still living in the dark. We have boardwalk in our backyards and cars are upside down and destroyed.
Sand covers everything. There are no roads or stores.
I hope I can one day write again on here with some positive news!

They're working on it but you do not put this thing back together again as easily as sweeping up some sand or pumping out the water. These towns like Rockaway have been hit in a way that had never struck before. Huge amounts of public infrastructure and housing and commercial properties are trashed for hundreds of miles. Hang in there jacker.

Thank you very much! It seems like we have been forgotten. It has been a week and were still in the dark. I can only hope for better days! My wife and kids want to leave Ny all together. Easier said then done! I cant get off the island and cant get to work. No lights, car or now even if car didnt float away there is a gas shortage. It will take a long time to recoup financially from this. Fema is a joke. Car insurance wont come cause they feel area is unsafe! Thanks for listening!
