It's all over but the grunt work. Platters, and projectors are coming out. Techs from Sonic are in route.

What model projectors did you go with?

had an image up last night and it was remarkable. Clearly better than what we had been showing. The sound, added speakers behind the screen, was awesome.

Little things like could not get keystone to go away and a lobster feed stop, and they went back to the hotel, realized they were not going to make it and came back at 3 am to find color was not balancing but all seems to have come together at the wire and the tech crew is about out of here. First shows are tonight. One thing that was really cool: walking from one theatre to the next with Brave on all three screens. Made we wish we could open Hunger Games again at midnight and have 450 people rather than the 170!

and then we were digital. Had our first shows last night. added speakers, improved sound, new screens, and digital projection. It was brighter, sharper, clearer and the sound was awesome. The image was noticeably improved. Maybe seeing it your own theatre is a huge difference over seeing it elsewhere? I walked down and stood about 20' from the screen: it was so steady and sharp. The credits .. in BW are always a issue in 35mm with bit of ghosting at times... sharp and steady as a rock. All in all: awesome. And we have not yet had a glitch. If anything the sound had to be tweaked downward. And we had a 35mm that had to be left in place running as per our contract and we needed it when Fox Search sent a 35 mm print on Thurs. The 35 MM looked shabby by comparison!

My 4-plex was finished 6/14. They did 2 screens one week and 2 the next--worked out well as was able to use all 4 screens over the week ends--was sad tearing the last 35mm down--but have to say--am happy with picture and sound--even the 3D is amazing. had teh first issue on friday with "Brave" 3D. Took the NOC 30 minutes to fix the problem. My manager missed film at that time--as she put it--"at least with film I could give the customers an idea how long to fix the issue".

Congrats on the conversion! Quality with digital is definitely leaps and bounds over film, but of course there is something to be said for good ol' reliable film.
