The Colonial Theatre in Belfast Maine turned 100 on April 9th though we'd been laboring under the impression it was April 12th (tomorrow!) and that is the scene and date of the big celebration. Luckily the cool plaque we ordered only says April 12th (to commemorate the day we are celebrating) My advice to you folks is not to allow amateur historians wander your town. They will catch you out every time. Anyway, yesterday or tomorrow: we are 100 years old. Happy 100 Colonial! Hey! You are all invited...

The Colonial Theatre turns 100 on April 12th, 2012.
Come join the celebration and it starts at 6:00 PM
• plaque unveiling and comments by Mayor Walter Ash and other luminaries
• see the John Grant era film
• see Trip to the Moon and other classic films
• photo opportunity on the Dreamland Stage: bring your cameras!
• sign the commemorative plywood cards to be mounted back stage!
• Guest cake contest and cake will be served. We will have lots of great cake!I
• free popcorn
• 2012 necklaces for free
• prize drawings
• free showing of Cinema Paradiso at 7:30 a film which inspired Therese Bagnardi and Mike Hurley to caretake the Colonial: bring your hankies!
• Free showing of Trip to the Moon and an inspired collection of period cartoons.
