This theater just changed hands in the past month and sits on the grossing totem where I do.

From their homepge:
"Welcome to the Landing 4 Theaters, your hometown movie theater. We appreciate all of the support that has been provided over the years and we hope that your movie experience at the Landing 4 has been and will be unforgettably exceptional. For the last 100 years movies have been on 35mm film. Hollywood has recorded millions of miles of film and now feels that it would be beneficial for them to transition to digital cinema.

Hollywood will require that ALL theaters throughout the globe transition their projection equipment to digital. The price tag on each auditorium is quite hefty and this will force many independent theaters to close their doors as they cannot compete with the fast growing mega-plex theaters. As the Landing 4 Theaters unfortunately falls into the category of “small” and “independent” we have become victim of the digital transition. Hollywood expects total transition in the next 12-18 months and your continued support may help us weather the transition.

If the next 12-18 months is our last I would like to say that it has been an absolute pleasure to serve you. We truly hope that you will continue to support your hometown downtown theater and as our furry friends from Disney’s “The Lion King” encouragingly say, Hakuna Matata."
