It is my opinion that some time over the next 10 years there will be almost no more studio reps.
This is how I see it working ---

YOU WILL SIGN INTO YOUR STUDIO ACT BASED ON YOUR SALES AND HOW MANY RUNS THERE TAKING --YOUR THEATER WILL HAVE A NUMBER. You will either qualify or you wont . There will be one or two people nation wide that will handle disputes .. Just my thoughts.

Perhaps -- but the booker will still have to choose from dozens of pictures .If you believe that bookers only call and order a movie...I believe it is an art......

I do not know if they'll get rid of their reps but it already feels like what you described. You are in or you are out.

Let's see: Forced conversion to digital......leaves hundreds of theaters to close........who use maybe a hundred different bookers........requiring less studio staff to handle. Hmmmmm.....

10 years from now when all VPF deals expire.........the cost to get a movie to a theater might be only $100.......maybe the studios will not care who gets a movie. Yes, I know I am dreaming!!

The biz will be alive and well long after we are all gone! There is much I love about the old theater days --- but there is much I love above todays advances.. . Not sure 100 % were we are going but its not home viewing...
