My theater - 4 screens, zero digital
Next closest theater - (one of a 30 theater chain) 8 screens, just went all digital
Next closest theater - (one of a 31 theater chain) 8 screens, just went all digital
Next closest theater - (one of a 49 theater chain) 14 screens, all digital for over year
Next closest theater - (one of a 30 theater chain) 8 screens, just went all digital
Next closest theater - 3 screen independent - all digital

That makes 41 of 45 screens digital for 1st run within 40 mintues of me.

Film will be around for a while??

On Contagion, 43 locations reported grosses to Rentrak in the KC district that I could see. 77% of the total gross came from all digital locations (22 of the 43). Of course many do not make their numbers public. The two biggest chains in the area who do not would be B&B and Mitchell. Mitchell is 100% digital and B&B is getting pretty close. I feel pretty comfortable with the 77% number.

So Jack, when are you changing?

I'm planning on being digital before next summer.

Richard,

We are in what one would call in a high degree of uncertainty mode. Our current property manager is absolutely horrible. We have water leaks and HVAC problems. But that is only part of it.

Our current facility is in a 30 year old strip mall and has that typical 30 year old strip mall theater look. Even we were to do a complete remodel and make it as good as it could possibly be, I am not so sure enough people in our area would notice. So.......

We have looked at building a new facility.......not cheap :(

So we hope we have some closure on what our future will be in the next 6 mos. If we stay in the business, we convert to digital at that time and hopefully under a 1st run VPF program.
