TOPIC: Small Public Blu-Ray Theater

Small Public Blu-Ray Theater 21 Jun 2010 15:28 #34187

I am doing a school project in which my business plan proposal is for a small single screen theater with 50 seats playing older movies in blu-ray format as it will be a smaller screen in which I think the resolution will be feasible.

I can't find much information for theatrical public licenses.

www.swank.com offered DVD's on a daily basis, so I would like something like that, except for blu-ray's and theatrical allowance. Also, an umbrella type license would be great, if I could find one that offered theatrical usage.

I could also show 35mm if needed, and I'm assuming I would then need a booker. I have read I should expect to pay around 50% of admission charges per film.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

P.S.- Sorry for being a noob.

Welcome gunbunny:

You are going to have to contact the distributors of the films because no matter what delivery system you use they are going to require you pay them their cut. There is a list of distributors in the "Directory" section of this site.
