I am looking into opening a theater. Our plan is to open a single screen, revival movie house that serves beer and wine. We will play classic and cult movies.

I know almost nothing about film booking. I am wondering how much it costs to book a classic/cult movie. We would most likely play the movie only for 2-3 days and then switch to another classic movie.

Can anyone give me information on where I can find film booking agents and their fees? And also just give me a general idea of how much a classic/cult movie costs to book. Thanks

Contact Jeff Goldman at Mini Theatres. Jeff has been our film booker for years and is excellent. Jeff's phone number is 347-587-6700.

If you dont mind me asking - how much does a film booker like Jeff charge? I just need to get a general idea.

I would recommend Frank Rash of Theatre Booking Service. He's located in Beatrice, Nebraska. His number is (402) 223-5119. When I was GM of a 248 seat single screener in Iowa in '06 he booked the theatre exactly the way I wanted. He charged me $150 a month and kept me booked a month in advance.

cult films. Used to be 125. then 150. now 250.00 standard. Most allow dvd showings but still want the 250.00 even if they want you to buy the dvd from somewhere.

Bookers run from 50.00 per week to 200.00 per week PER SCREEN ..... depends on how much work you are.

How much work you are.. think he means how hard is it to book the theater ,clearance issues ,competition.
