Hispanic Cinemas 12 May 2009 21:03 #31511

Im looking into opening a hispanic movie theater that showes movies in spanish. Both movies produced in the us, and in mexico. I know nothing about opening a theater, so any advice would be helpful. How many screens? Where do i get the movies? What is the cost for the films? Thank You.

Search the forms for those quesitons. They are all answered here. Look in FAQ first.

In addition to all the answers you'll find in the Frequently Asked Questions forum, you need to know that the only U.S. studio films with a Spanish soundtrack are children's movies. The rest are available in English with Spanish subtitles, if they're being distributed in Latin America.

On the other hand, if you can find an appropriate booking agent, you may be able to get some excellent Mexican films as well as some from Spain and South America. I'd suggest that those should include English subtitles in order to maximize your potential audience.
