Is it just the weather up here near Buffalo the past two days or what?

I had expected sell outs or at least close to it, yet we have had less than 1/3 of our seats filled!

While it's NOT a Pixar flick, it looks cute enough, and everyone leaving seems to have enjoyed it (love the hamster) where are the crowds?

Just curious if everyone has had simular turnouts? or is it just us!

:S

Maybe your targeted patrons already spent their budgeted entertainment money on Madagascar and H.S. Musical. I wondered if that might happen.

By far my favorite aspect of the operations side of this business is Rentrak's website.

Today I was concerned about how poorly both Bolt and Twilight were performing. But right now I am feeling much better as Twilight has dropped by what seems to my recollection a significant amount. (I beleive Rentrak is reporting a 44% drop as of right now nationally). Bolt also performed for us like our peers.

So do you use rentrak's website? If not, why not!!!

Bolt was doing well here in NY and Twilight has been one sold out show after another since the advance on Thursday night here!
But you can't base NY box office to small towns, I swear people go no matter what movie is playing on the weekends here and sellout showings!

You can see how almost all theaters in your area are doing on a particular title. For example there are 59 theaters playing Bolt in my branch. Towns from 3000 populations on up. 70 playing Madagascar this weekend.

If you are not sure how to use the website, Rentrak staff are great in helping you learn how to use it.

I have it in 2 of my small towns and not setting any records, but with hunting season opening this week end it usually causes a lull with movies that were not planned on being blockbusters. Word of mouth should help it stay steady through Thanksgiving in my area, as all are enjoying.

On a side note--I have not had 1 person ask about 3D!

I have not had ANYONE ask about the 3D either!

I have not checked out Rentrak but I guess I will!

Hoping for a better week next week due to vacations for Turkey Day...

on a side note, looking to plan a 'road trip' to check out www.heartattackgrill.com it looks so GOOD!

Bolt was a major disappointment here in Central Pennsylvania. When our local AMC multiplex only sells 18 tickets for a Saturday matinee show (non 3-D) then you have to wonder what is going on.

We ere light too on it but Twilight had our big screen.

I think we will see steady or more business on it next weekend. Next weekend is always a big movie weekend.

Twilight was a pleasant surprise in my area. Bolt did just okay though. It's a good movie...maybe the families are waiting until Thanksgiving..

did surprisingly slow but it is a burnout coming on the heels of Mad 2 and we still have it up in one theatre so you skim from one for the other.

I will be more interested to see how Twi does next week when we move it to our other theatre for a 2 week run.
