So what is the latest with digital? Could the financial mess we are in curtail the VPFs supported deals, especially with the CBG?

When will a decent system get down to $35,000?

ahhhh digital: another good reason to go to shows.

I went to the panel discussions/ CBG meeting/spoke with mfgs and techs:

# 1 Wall Street cazme to Main street: credit is dead in the water so any major roll outs including CBG are on hold.

# 2 prices are now down or shortly will be in the 35K per screen for multiple screen roll out.

# 3 everyone is now predicting the end of 35MM availability (see another post) within 5-10 years. Even the "say it ain't so" folks.

# 4 everyone is saying that you must get on board or you may be left behind. Fear is in the air.

# 5 3-D is pushing people to go digi even as they don't really want to

# 6 Show East was for the 1st time 100% digital. The stuff is good.

# 7 the idea that the majors both distribs and exhibs will make their own deal and leave the little guiys: filmmakers and exhibs both behind is being floated as a reality.

Digiatl is an opportunity and a threat.
