This is from the UBB help Mike. From this it looks like the photo should already be somewhere on the internet and it will just display it here automatically without having to visit the referenced site.

Text from help file:

To add a graphic within your message, just encase the URL of the graphic image as shown in the following example (UBB Code is in red).

In the example above, the UBB Code automatically makes the graphic visible in your message. Note: the "http://" part of the URL is REQUIRED for the code. Also note: some UBB forums may disable the [img] tag support to prevent objectionable images from being viewed. [img] code. Just trying this to see if it works..... a bit of movie nostalgia from my files to get your heart pumping.....

I think the secret is you must capitalize IMG at the beginning and the end..... so that your link looks like this:
