Winchester Cinema, Winchester Indiana. Open less than two years closing... Two operating screens (third not finished but equip on site) and a cafe in a converted old downtown building.... closest competition is 30 minutes away.

Wow, sorry to hear that. I had talked to Gary a few weeks ago about buying his old cupholders. He never mentioned the theatre was closing. He even invited my down to see the theatres unique method of projecting via mirrors.

He's looking to sell for $450000.00 he's trying to recoup some of his investment but suspect it will soon be much cheaper through the bank as the owner is moving out of state..

It's a good setup but he was not experienced in the business and expected a much higher and quicker return on his investment

Huh. Is the theater already closed? I tried to contact it but it seems the number(s) have been disconnected. I wanted to swing by the theater to see what it was like as it looks like an interesting possibility [to me at least]. The auditoriums look small though, but I'm curious what type of movies they played in there when it was functional.

So I assume if I went to Winchester, IN now the building is closed and I wouldn't be able to look around it? Thanks

auditoriums seat 95 each..booths are in basement and project via mirrors. saved a lot of main floor space. As for access contact Old National Bank (Dean Edwards) they hold the paper and can set up access. He kept flipping from sub-run to first run.. with $4.00 admissions. He felt the film companies "were stickin it to the little guys" with big deposits on first run... He had no previous experience in the business and didn't like paying up front for anything. His first run product did well

Mirror (periscope) systems are very prone to flare (contrast loss) and vibration, and do reduce efficiency in illuminating a screen. Be sure the mirrors are high quality optically flat front surface, are mounted solidly, and are kept absolutely clean and dust free.

I met with local backers today and they are looking for an experienced operator... they have the funds for the right person... this is a two screen (third partial finished equipment on site) with a cafe in the lobby. loucated in downtown... other downtown restaurant just closed (owner retired) had real good numbers at the restaurant with the competitor should be even better without. Need some experience in both areas (film and food) Ideal Mom and Pop with hands-on. Three floors with a new elevator - very good potential for on site living quarters or offices upstairs...

I'd jump on it but the other half has mentioned serious health risks while I sleep if I give up my current job....

Bank has forclosed and price has gone way......down. Now maybe it will be more attractive and reasonable to get into. Community is really behind getting this back in operation and the Economic Development Commission may even has a few bucks to help with this....

$2000.00? Do you mean $200,000?

Sure looks like a pretty theatre and a great price (250,000)for what your getting. Can't understand why the place has not been sold yet?
