I have the opportunity to use an existing theatre to show foreign and independent films in on a part time basis. The theatre is used now for live theatre part of the month, sometimes as little as 1 or 2 weeks.

I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on how this would work, if the distributors would book you films knowing they wouldn't be shown everyday?
Thanks in advance for everones help.

Depends on the distributor and how far into the release run you book the film. If it's older and there are prints sitting on the floor of the depot, then distributor won't mind booking even for a few days. But if it's a new release, they are going to want the whole week. Take for example, we tried to book The Incredible Hulk for June 27 to July 1, a total of 4.5 days, so we can open Hancock. Universal wants the whole week, so they wouldn't give us a print even though they had some sitting on the floor of the depot. Silly to let a film print just sit when it could be generating some revenue for Universal, but to each his own.
