IMHO

Part of the fun about going to the theater is the big screen. So.....

If you feel the smallet screen might be 10'h, you would only be able to get by with a few rows (4-5 tops). Possible??

If you use a 3 foot bottom and a 6" top masking wold net you 8.5 feet h.......which in my opinion would get you nothing worth going to.

Recall the "stealth theater" design from a couple of years ago that almost all people trashed?? part of that charm (and I have been to one of the places in Branson, MO) was smaller rooms with 4-5 rows but still a very good size screen. I actually liked some of those smaller rooms. Now they do not have to be diamond shaped, or curved with seets way past the sides fo the screen.

In our screen that we are adding right now (getting close); we were initially disappointed that the ceiling could not be raised due to a low sprinkler system. The current ceiling height is 13.5 feet. There is another 1.5 feet above that. The cost to rasie the old sprinkler system wold have been at least $14-15,000. More than what we wanted to spend.

So we will end up with a 10' H screen and 5 rows of 14 seats.

I am negotiating with a local shopping center to put in an 80 seat single screener in a building that has an 11 1/2 foot ceiling clearance. I will have 11 staggered rows of seats 42 inches back-to-back on a flat floor. The screen will be roughly 7 1/2 x 18 and 3 1/3 feet off the floor. The auditorium is about 45x28 so that screen will be large enough. I've never agreed with the concept that bigger or louder is better.

What would be nice is if someone here had a picture or a link to a picture showing a building that had been converted into a cinema.

That is what I would like to see. I have been searching the net for some ideas and to see how one was done would be most helpful.
