We were up on the roof, painting the elephant, and dragged a couple of lawn chairs to the far edge for lunch. We were about 80' up. The back of the theatre is on top of a hill over looking our harbor. 180 degrees over about 1 mile of harbor waterfront with our cool old brick buildings, bridges, etc. What does your theatre look out on? http://colonialtheatre.com/TBHistory.cfm

my theater looks out on the Turkey River and is right next to the roller dam and the longest keystone bridge west of the Mississippi river. we live upstairs from it and have the best view in town to ourselves from our deck above the theater screen.

Both of yours sound great!

One of mine faces Burney Mountain, which usually has at least a patch of snow on it until late July. This year all the snow was gone by June 1. Burney Creek is about 100 yards away. From my box office, I can watch Osprey flying overhead almost every night and occasionally catch a bald eagle flying over.

From my box office at the Strand I have a beautiful view of lovely downtown Showhegan! Directly across from me is a storage trailer, surrounded by a bunch of building materials. Diagonally I have a decrepit drink and drown bar where it looks like it rains cigarettes every weekend. All this after the town has been "revitalizing the last 3 years. If possible the town looks worse than ever. Depressing!

Narrow Gauge.... I opened a bar and restaurant in our town when it was a decrepit 35 empty stores chicken gutting town.... it was a success.... but later people asked me what would I do differently and I said: Not be the avante garde. You've got a beautiful theatre there. Hang tough.
