This may be a silly question but is it appropriate to ask if you can double a film on it's 4th week.....ie: Horton?

It's doing well during the day but the late shows are...zzzzzzzzzzzzz. I'm getting the "Bank Job" and wondered if I'd look insane to ask if I could double "Horton". I've got the screen available if it's a resounding "no"...I would just be booking another film for variety so it's no big deal.

Thanks

Tom

A buddy of mine is doubling "Horton" this weekend (3rd), late shows only. But be careful! Sometimes he'll do that on his own and not go through proper channels - I keep waiting for him to get busted by the studios.

it is often done without asking but it sure does ecite some fellers.... not to mention your competition who may/may not call on you. Each must seek their own center. It really is a kidz movie so they should be good. But good grosses make for tough holdovers.

What kind of box office numbers (weekend)do film companys want you to hold over a pic.

We come off with a pic if it does not do a least 2,000 for the 3 days...There are times we might hold for less or peak times $2,500

It all depends on the season. We want to dump anything that has not done 1,000 but when there is a blockbuster movie opening every week we do get to drop the low gross which may be less the 2,000 or may not for that weekend.
