I'm looking for who you think has the best theatre + restaurant combination. What makes them successful or unsuccesful?

Here in the Pacific Northwest it's McMenamins chain. Their food is excellent. Prices not too bad either. And the movie presentation is generally good. All of their theaters are in historic buildings and McMenamins spends the money fixing their properties up. www.mcmenamin.com is their website.

Haven't been to too many of these, but was very impressed with both the presentation and the pizza at the Cinerama in Bar Harbor ME.

And, of course, I have nothing but great things to say about Asheville Pizza and Brewing Co. in Asheville NC (hey...they've been a good account for years!). They make some killer good beer there.

It's the Reel Pizza in Bar Harbor.

This was a few years ago, probably pre-BigScreenBiz for me. Next time we make that trip, you can count on a visit (as long as you buy me a martini, or three!).

At a previous theatre I was at we had a little ceasars franchise and a minigolf course that shared the theatre entrance lobby. The Ceasars had their own outside entrance and wasn't exclusively for the theatre. Single Slices, Crazy Bread, (no full pizzas) were allowed into the theatres. It worked GREAT for birthday parties.
