Hey you guys..... We don't talk politics here for all the right reasons. But take a look at our poll and vote now... http://www.bigscreenbiz.com/polls/ and it'll be fun for us to find out that we do not all think alike.

So why are so many of the questions outdated?

We leave polls up so people can see what and how people felt at the time.

Just went back to 04 bigscreen voted
Bush 116
Kerry 108
Nader 11

So... if Nader had not been in........ Let's not even go there.

Ya know Mike, you insist politics should be left out, but then you make off handed comments constantly which can be offensive to someone of the other political party. You are pretty transparent about which side of the aisle you are on, and I'm not easily offended, but it does get tiresome at times.... i.e. I turn the channel whenever Bush is on, etc. etc. Please, I agree, let's keep politics off the site if we can.

Say what you mean and mean what you say. I take issue with poilitics only when someone thinks this is a forum to argue. It's fine by me to reveal your leanings. The reason I like the poll is it shows clearly we're not all on one side of the aisle and are in fact pretty clearly 50/50, certainly in the case of the president and just as much when we start to talk about other issues.

I bet that when steel bar manufaturers talk in their forums they don't get much into politics except when its re: tarrifs, etc. In our case films are a flash point that reflect cultural and political schisms. In our case further: people go after theatres that show films they don't like in a way they never go after a bookstore for selling books they don't like.

Some politics in our business is inevitable. I draw the line at arguing and trying to convince each other about where each of us may stand.

But: point well taken re: my deep abiding love for the Pres. I'll turn it down.

I have to agree with Newbie, and not just directed toward Mike. There are numerous other forums one can subscribe to in which you can talk about politics freely, but this isn't one of them. Same goes for sports. I personally love discussing the publicly perceived environmental impact of the new RoHS requirements in tin-lead circuit board plating, but...

I'm sorry, but I make time in my day to come here to discuss the big screen biz only.

..that RoHS board is a screamer. I like a nice full plate of it

If you figure out how to take politics out of talking about Farenheit 9-11, The Passion of Christ, The Golden Compass, Brokeback Mountain... etc. let me know.
