I heard from a friend who owns a theatre and he asked.......

Wondering if you could give me some feedback regarding your employee
admissions policies and any others that you know of at other theaters. Been
thinking about changing mine. Do you allow only employees to see your movies
free of charge? Employees and their immediate families? Friends? Certain
nights?

Since opening, my policy has been employees only and no restrictions on when
they could come in.

Like to know what you think on this.

All of our employees are allowed unlimited access at no charge. They very rarely come when it's busy as most of them are working then anyway! Emps (doesn't have that certain PC ring of "associates" does it?) bring a guest, sometimes two...but rarely. Kids of emps go free but at any given time we have 2 or 3 kids max on the mom/dad payroll. No one abuses it and all is well.

The other night I noticed a emp sheepishl;y hanging out in the smokin' lobby as we furiously piled corn and sold tiks. I asked her, {"Can I help you?" She look like she needed help. Then later I see her on the end of the line and ask her what is she going to see? Pearl Harbor! I said, "It's sold out and if you'd told me in the lobby I'd simply have sent you in." It's not a bennie that we go squeaky with.

Our employees are aloowed unlimited access with 1 free set of concessions. They may bring one guest free of charge and only them and that guest can have the free set of concessions.

BTW, Mike, I received the shirt!!! Thanks very much! It's so big, It's almost like a mini skirt!!!

all my employees are my family, so I don't limit what movies they watch. There are a couple of other people that I can count on to jump behind concessions or work on a moment's notice. I always let them in free too. They have pulled us out of a jam many times. Most recently a Sat showing of Shrek and P.H.

We had employee and immediate family or employee and one friend. They had to wait two weeks on new movies.

We usually preview new prints on Thursday nights, that is if I'm not too tired. Employees are allowed to bring a guest. Otherwise, our policy is that our employees can bring a guest with them for any show. They receive a comp soda and popcorn. Although I try my damnest to enforce the above, I know for a fact they sneak "passes" to their friends every now and then. But, I can't be there 100% of the time. But, I do drop in almost everynight.
