From what I understand Disney is adding an attached cartoon to the front of the theatrical release of "National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets".

While I applaud the effort of Disney to resurrect pre-feature cartoons, couldn't they come up with something other than than Goofy in "How To Hook Up Your Home Theatre"

I guess Robert Iger hasn't given up on his quest for simultaneous day & day theatrical and home video releases after all.

With their huge backlog of cartoon product, certainly Disney could have released something better.

This is a brand new cartoon that takes on the exact look and feel of the old Goofy How To cartoons. I played Goofy in How to Swim last summer when my grandkids were taking swimming lessons. They loved it. Goofy's How to series are great cartoons.

Here's a link to an interesting article I came across describing why they decided on this title and medium. I think we are fortunate in that Disney is committed to making more shorts in the future. Whether Disney is making them just to compete with Pixar or not, I think we are all in for a treat and it will bring another level of hype and anticipation to going to the movies.

I think you're reading too much into it. It was fun. It did not make me want to go out and buy an HDTV immediately.
