if it helps at all we opened Good Luck Chuck to the exact same response. shocked at the lack of interest.

Hoping the kid does not lead to the same heart break on the 5th!

Heartbreak Kid is in a whole other universe than Good Luck Chuck and Eastern Promises. For one thing, the Farley Brothers are involved, and Ben Stiller is a well proven box office commodity. I'll be shocked if Heartbreak opens to less than $50 million on its opening weekend. For this time of year, it will do just fine until we hit the holiday releases in early November.

Hope it does well for you. I saw a screening of it and didn't care for it much. Just raunchy without being funny. Just one guy's opinion, though

Leeler is right. The word on the grapevine is that the picture has not screened well. Stillers (and the Farrelly Brothers of late)track record is very mixed. The trailers I've seen do nothing for me personally.

Which reminds me of another Ben Stiller dud with Drew Barrymore which was released September 26 2003... Duplex.

No way Ben Stiller opens to 50MM. I would be amazed at anything north of 20 from what I have seen and heard of this flick. Dont get your hopes up.

The original of The Heartbreak Kid back in 1973 was a cute movie - and while received well critically - did not do that much at the boxoffice. Strange choice for a remake.

Did anyone happen to play NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM? Or THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY? I think HEARTBREAK is going to be a hit, we'll find out for sure in less than 2 weeks.

Heeartbreak Kid is said to clock in at 2 hours and 38 minutes. No one can take Ben Stiller for that long at one time.

No, that's not right. I saw it and it wasn't that long. Paramount exhibitor relations says 116 minutes which seems right. It just wasn't that funny. It is nothing like Night at the museum and frankly, wasn't near as funny as There's Something about Mary. I hope it does great for you but it won't be playing in my small town theater.
