I'm not very excited to hear that tickets to ShowEast/West are being sold on eBay. This enables any Joe Blow to attend this event that is intended for exhibitors, distributors, vendors, etc. Even the media is restricted. Too many "outsiders" could potentially create an atmosphere that is less than professional. My sister wants to go to ShoWest with me this year and is not in the biz and I have my reservations.

This is interesting. Does anyone else bring relatives or friends that want to attend just for the glitz and not necessarily the educational aspect or to meet with other friends in the biz? I suppose that's one possible reason for the high registration fee- it weeds out all the starry-eyed teens.

Anyone can attend at any tim,e. ASll you have to do is buy a ticket. I am actually surprised that more people don't buy a tik just to do the celeb gawking. If you were a real star hound it would be money well spent. I have run into many, not hundreds, but family and a friend or two for sure, that had no interest. For most sane people not in the biz the Show would be a bit slow. 99.9999 % of people would not know what Show East or West is. Variety Kids is a great cause.

But closing millions of auctions a day hardly qualifies as "not worth it". I bought my printer that had been used for a few days at a trade show for 1/3 of new and it is great. Buyer beware.
