from another post....... "Our town is 2500 with a pop. of 30000 within a 10 mile radius. We have 3 screens and our first spring was good,first summer was better than spring and so far fall looks to be typical [slow].We are avg. 700 tickets per week now,...................what advertising will help get people to know we are here? We have tried local papers [3] in the market,1 radio on-location,some flyers at local parades............................................. [worked pretty good] but I feel we are missing an important piece when I see other theatre numbers."
Here's what we do to promote our films:
1. good answering machine with 2nd machine back up so buisy calls do not lose callers
2. web site kept looking good and current
3. weekly e mail to subscibers
4. ads in every local paper/ 5!
5. 40 full page flyers that go up in many store/restaurant/shops/etc.
6. marguee with playing and coming!
7. posters inside and out
8. small take away flyers in the lobby and in an "take one" box
9. events that promote our theatre: like the Hairspray party we had.
10. clean, attractive, and friendly place to come to: once a customer arrives treat them good! Great seats, sound, projection is needed to.
