TOPIC: Projectors (not Film ones)

Projectors (not Film ones) 18 Jul 2007 13:59 #15602

Hi - new to the forums so please be gentle!

I have recently taken over the running of a one screen old theater in Southern Westchester. It is currently a non profit after a bunch of community members saved it from being torn down and turned into a bank. We are looking to raise funds to change it into a 3 screen independant film center, Basically i have been charged with keeping it running until we hopefully break ground in the next year or two.

Anyways - i have been looking at creative ways for making money and want to have birthday parties and sell the dreaded on screen ads (i know i know but how do you make money oherwise with one screen!?!?)

So does anyone use one of those portable projectors (not film) for ads or events that require a DVD (i know there are royalty issues - just exploring my options)

Thanks

Yes those work well for ads. Depending on the distance and screen size you will need a little more than what you can buy off the shelf at your local electronics store. You may need one that can take a lens that will fill your screen.

I think several models have been listed in an old post about video projectors you might want to look that up.
