Hi! My church is looking to put on a showing of a movie that's fairly new (not out on DVD yet.. something like Ratatouille) on a large projection screen for kids at an elementary school. I was wondering a few things: if it's possible to hire out people to do this, what kind of fees would be involved in showing the movie, where to get a hold of the people to get their permission to show the movie (booking a movie just one time), how much it would cost to rent the projector, etc. Is there 1 company that will do all of this for us? I have no idea where to start, but was hoping somebody would! Any ideas?

Thanks

I'm not aware of anyone who does this, though that doesn't mean it's not possible.

As far as I know, there aren't any mobile exhibition businesses that the studios are licensing first-run product to. Markets and territories have a certain influence over how the studios spread their prints out. A mobile operation would circumvent that.

If you want to run something as current as Ratatouille, it would probably be much easier, and cheaper, to find a theatre that rents its auditoriums or offers group showings.

Cinevision in Atlanta does a lot of mobile shows. Most of them are for outdoor "movies in the park" series, though.

You can't get first run movies with a mobile set-up...been there, done that. Follow rodeojack's advice and see if you can rent a screening at an indoor cinema.
