I am thinking about doing something special this fall to celebrate my 10-yr-theatre ownership anniversary. I plan on having something else special in a couple years to celebrate the theatre being open for 70 years.

Any ideas?

Play the movie you first showed 10 years ago and roll back the prices to the way they were then!

Bring back a couple of kids who had their first date there but are married now. 13-23 no problem!

Special show for top customers.

We're working on our 100th! 5 years away.

Playing the first movie I showed is a great idea, but that movie was GOOD BURGER, which the previous owner booked for me. It was a piece of crap back then--I wouldn't want to be humiliated again by bringing it back. LOL

I like the idea of rolling back the prices for the day. Maybe I will just do that with my regular feature and just make up the difference with the studio for my 10-year. The 70-year will be more difficult, since tickets were only 40 cents back then.

Good ideas Jacker and Mike.

We are doing something similar and are planning on having a reunion for all of those still in the area who have worked at the theatre in the past. We have some people who worked in our theatre 40 years ago and thought a reunion would be fun. We plan to make an announcement of the reunion in our local paper as well as on the cities closed circuit channel.

I have done things in the past like every Nth customer gets a prize. In your case every 10th customer gets a pass to come back or a free small popcorn or some peomo item from a film company. Posters work great for this even mini ones.
