We own a single screen theatre in a small community and our building is situated at the only intersection of the historic district. Nobody passes thru town without passing the theatre. My question to all of you is this: What creative things have any of you done to take advantage of prime locations in a community during daylight hours since the only time our theatre is open during the week is from roughly 6pm to 9pm? It seems a shame not to be able to capitalize on our location during what is normal business hours for most businesses.

Do you have a website with pics of the theatre to get an idea how it looks and how it is situated!

One of our downtown houses has its concession open as a coffeehouse during the day. With a movie-themed decor, something along those lines would cross-promote your evening films nicely.

I am in a similar location.

I have used bus sides hanging from my marquee before. I also make sure I get all the window painting kits I can from the film companies and use them on my building as well as one of the neighbors. You could do something similar with bus shelters since they are big.

You could also cut out letters and hang on your building with the movie title.

Do you have a marquee that overhangs the sidewalk? If so use that to promote as much as possible.

I just had a great idea I want to have Spiderman hanging out of one of my windows like he is climbing the building.
