Anyone else being told Pirates 3 cannot be moved and there will be no additional bookings after the break until July?

Hope those of you going to ShoWest have a great time. I get depressed this time of the year when I don't go.

There was no mention of this at ShoWest, but I can't imagine that being the case. Jerry Bruckheimer was there and said that Pirates 3 is so big and had such an enormous budget, that it's going to make 1 and 2 look like trailers to 3. They also showed the trailer for Pirates 3 for the first time and it looks absolutely breathtaking. Book it for as long as you can!

When we did Pirates 2, we had such a drop off during the 2nd week that we were able to get out of it. Where as with Cars, the studio said our numbers were so good during the first 2 weeks that they said we had to show it for a 3rd week. So hopefully Pirates 3 will be just as big as they say it will be.

Over the years I have found that terms can vary especially "required play-time" terms. Quite a bit from regional office to regional office. Last year our area terms for Cars was 4 weeks and Pirates 2 was 3 weeks. And with the way Pirates 2 left the audience hanging. BV knows they are sitting with gold in their hands with Pirates 3. Current tracking numbers for opening weekend has the big three in May looking like this at this time.
Pirates 3 $160mil
Spidy 3 $140mil
Shrek 3 $100mil.

With those kind of numbers especially that $160 million. Anybody who wants to see Pirates 3 bad enough will have seen it opening weekend. No one is going to want to wait and hear from others what happened to Jack Sparrow. And the many other questions...

Pirates 2 did good business but not great for me. Disney made me hold it for two weeks which I've never done before. 2nd week it fell apart and it ended up being about 2/3 of a regular week for me. Faced with a similar deal for Pirates 3 and I'll consider skipping it.
