How can you tell how old an advertisement is over in the classifieds section?

I see a date in one place when selecting the category. Is that the oldest ad under that listing or the newest? How long do the ads stay there? I see some dates that would be nearly a year old. Or could they be even older? Even so, I can't tell which ads are older or newer, unless I've been reading them all along.

I would feel more comfortable contacting someone if I thought their ad was current. I tend to think at least some ads must be way outdated.

Mike, is there any way to include the date an ad was posted? The system must have that data somewhere.

Thanks!

Hi Lionheart - The newer classifieds are always the ones at the top of the list. The further down they are, the older they get. Most have phone numbers or emails to contact so checking is an easy process. Most of the ad time frames are 30 to 60 days.

we do prune them but if they seem relevant we tend to leave them and since they are free it is hard for me or any of us to get too worked up on cleansing them.
