Don't even mention New England to me please. Please.

But......... is the SuperBowl show the deadest slowest show of the entire year; bar none? How about an "anti superbowl" party! ???

It is a Sunday night in the winter. A slow night for us with or without the Superbowl. I am glad its not a Sat. evening thing.

Matinee's are so so for us on superbowl sunday. Evening shows..forget it. Even the fast food franchises close around 5 - 6 PM. Football is just plain HUGH in our area.

Super Bowl Sunday is a great time to go to the movies, if you're like me and don't care a hoot about football--or commercials!! Tell you the truth, I didn't even know when the game is, who is playing, or where until just now when I looked it up on the internet. I will be playing a regular schedule with an additional kids matinee. We'll see how it goes.

Burney, next Sunday is all you need to know. Our matinees are also so so on that afternoon and I'm toying with the idea of not running the 7:00 set at all as the day just grinds to a halt by then. I don't think it pays to be open.

I'm with Burney. We'll be running the normal set of 3pm matinee and 7pm show. I decided to counter program with 'Charlotte's Web' so we'll just have to see how it goes. I've seen lots of interest in the show so I'm not too worried...

The real Oakland Raiders you mean, Mike? I used to be on duty back in the day and watched bits and pieces when I did "public assembly checks" in the sports bars.

Just curious - how'd everyone do this weekend?

With the blizzards and windchills of 20 below, our whole town was shut down. You know it's bad when even the churches are cancelling Sunday morning service!

We did pretty bad for the whole weekend. For the Sunday night showing of Stomp The Yard, we only had 12 paid customers. I went back and looked at the 2 previous years when we had a movie during Super Bowl and the movies were Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and Coach Carter and we only had 13 and 10 customers respectively.

Yes, it was pretty bad, at least for the evening show during the game. The earlier part of the day wasn't too bad, but as the day went by it was all downhill.

Keep in mind that I am a single screen subrun. I was playing Charlotte's Web for the 2:00 PM matinee which brought in 236 people (2nd week). The Holiday played at 4:00 and 7:00 PM. The 4 O'clock show had 60 people and the 7 O'clock show had 14.

WE had 22 people for Sunday night. Very Cold for us too.

Burney no Matinee of Museum? I opened Museum on break and it still is picking up my #1 or #2 spot. Looking forward to new movies in the next two weeks though.

we had 53 for Charlotte's Web at the 3pm matinee and only 10 for the 7pm show. Good thing we had some private shows this weekend or it would have been one lousy weekend. As it is, we'll struggle to meet average.
