I am more convinced than ever that when the critics trash a movie it's gonna be pure gold!

Did more in one weekend than we did with 3 weeks of Charlotte!

Nice to actually sell out of some concessions items, been a long time since that happened.

Good for you! I have it next week and hope to do the same. I just played Eragon, which was trashed also, but it did quite well and everyone really liked it.

Looking at the national chart of the top 5 releases for 2006. And then the reviews.
1. Pirates 2
2. Cars
3. X-Men 3
4. Davinci Code
5. Night at the Museum

The critics were not very positive about most of them. Charlotte's Web did well for us, for the audience it drew. Which was mostly families with toddlers to 8 year olds. Museum is drawing much wider. Basically the age group from 8 to 80.

I spent 3 hopurs at the Museum of Nat History in NYC on Sat. It was fun to be back. The movie was solid and screw the critics.

IMHO "professional" critics do not know how to enjoy a movie--probably from seeing so many as part of their "job". I also have found that if the critics liked I will do little business and if they hate I do great.

I like watching the user reviews, except have to weed out all the entries done by people who have not even seen a movie they are writing about.

Exactly! I don't understand why Yahoo allows so many crap reviews by users, so many flat out start with "I haven't see ____ yet but it sux"

and then there are the obvious plants by studios that play it up to be the best movie in the history of film...

all in all read the middle of the road reviews and you get a pretty good idea what we have to look forward to.
