Does your theatre use the full sized metal letters or are you on the flat plastic ones. We are One and one.

We still use Adler 8 inch aluminum letters. We have two complete fonts, one in black and one in red. The title always goes up in black and everything else in red. Of course in this day of the multiplex and megaplex there is no room for anything other then the title. But as a single screen we still put up star names, showtimes and the rating, and sometimes a catchy ad line.

These letters were purchased in 1940 when the reverse (black tin background with white glass letter insert) milk glass letters were replaced. They are still as good as new, and I can't think of any reason to ever replace them. Now if I could only find a set of Adler 10 inch metal letters.

we got rid of the metal letters and switched to wagner plastic ones, main issue was in heavy wind letters can some times get knocked off the Marquee and I sure wouldn't want one of those metal ones landing on someones head!
