Just received notice that NATO will cease to publish In Focus and merge with Box Office magazine.

Thoughts?

Well that just moves NATO membership one more notch closer to totally useless.

I subscribed to Boxoffice for 25+ years but let the subscription lapse two years ago. I was not happy with the way it was going. I remember it's grand old days when the independent theaters and drive-ins were so much a part of each issue.

It looks like Boxoffice will be a real sinking ship now.

I got that notice too... and I agree with Ken. The new format with no useful release chart like they used to have, has made Boxoffice almost useless.

2 years ago they dropped the annual August issue that was dedicated to drive-ins, and never mentioned a word about it. All they ever focus on now is digital projection stuff.

The bad news in this re: NATO is the same reason as why they focus on digital: look at who their ads are from: digital.

I can't see letting a commercail advertising based publication be the mouthpiece for a member organization: it's odd.

I agree with Mike. I also think Boxoffice should include a DVD in their next issue with instructions on how to read the thing.
