Go digital give up on 35mm slides.

I burn a dvd with my ad slides so the projectionist can just push play. Much less error pron than giving them a computer to run powerpoint and get it all messed up.

Just one patron's opinion, but a properly projected slide presentation that is kept updated beats a second-rate digital pre-show hands down. Powerpoint videos belong in boardrooms, and Cheetah Girls videos belong on the Disney Channel

I used the Kodak Ektagraphic without any problems. You can usually find them and the longer throw lens on ebay--cheap.

Well I switched from 35mm slides when it was too expensive and slow to get the slides made and the parts for the slide projectors.

What I use now each slide is formated like a 35mm slide. I can disolve or slide it onto the screen. I can also zoom in and move from part of the slide another part making it look like video. I use this as a selling point to my ad customers. Each month their ad is moved in rotation and sometimes the animation is changed. This keeps the program looking fresh to the audience.

It also means I can insert ads for my own events and public service announcments for no cost to me since no one has to make the slide for me. It also appeals to my ad customers since there is no cost to making their ad if they do it themselves and send it to me as a Jpeg or powerpoint. If I make it then I charge them a flat rate. So I make the money to create the slide and I make it to show the slide.

I make more money doing my own ads than when we ran rolling stock from screenvision even though we were one of screenvision's early customers. The ads paid for equipment and now I have the possibility of using it for other things like meeting or game rentals. so far moving from 35mm slides program to a video projected slide program has been a win win.
