Do any of you run ads in your theaters? If you do is it werth it to do so. I'm thinking about it and am curious.

We are the Anti-Corportate theatre. My partner hates ads and I agree. We refuse to even promote to pizza place next door. They give us free pizza anyway. Just our presence drive buisness to them.

I would run ads only under the following guidelines.

1. They were produced for the cinema and the cinema only.

2. We ran them before the sheduled show time.

3. They were produced on 35mm film or HDTV video.

4. They were shown on 35mm film or Digital Cinema quality.

5. They were used to sponser a specific trailer or film.

6. I would never run an ad that promoted something on Television.

7. There would never be more than one ad or PSA per trailer.

But since numbers 1-3 will never be met, I can safely go on not showing ads at my theatre.

It amazes me that both UA and Sony/Loews will run ads for USA Network, ABC, and other tv stuff before a feature film in the theatres. Why are they encouraging people to stay home and watch tv?
