I've been running a 3 screen theater in a small town for 7 months. Our current matinee pricing is a little too generous in my opinion. Especially if the intent of matinee pricing is to encourage people to come to the theater on slower days.
Our full price is $7.50. Currently, all shows which begin before 5pm everyday are $5 for everyone. During the run of Pirates, we had two "matinees" every Saturday and Sunday. They continually sell out, and I am wondering why I am selling myself short and rewarding people who come on peak days.
I know I am going to get a lot of negative feedback when I change my policy, but I think I'm shooting myself in the foot. What are your bargain/matinee policies?
