i am not sure if this has been discussed before but i am reasearching the theater business. I am thinking about opening a small 2 screen theater with a twist. my question is, how do you get the film, is there some sort of national registry you must be on and if so, how to do that. basically, how and where do you get the new movies to play in the theater. thanks... sorry for the repitition.

You should check the FAQ page first. That topic has been discussed at length on other threads. If you don't get all your questions aswered by that, then you can ask specifics instead of such a broad range.

See the top of this page? Click on directories, then go down to Film Booking. Or try this link http://www.bigscreenbiz.com/directory/DirList.cfm?TID=2&STID=7

I'm from SE Michigan originally (sort of) - are you in the Detroit area?

Mr. Vegas - I'm from the the northern Thumb, to be specific. Live in West Michigan now. Are you opening a new theater, or thinking to buy? I do not own a theater yet - I've been researching here a LONG time, and it's cooled my enthusiasm to go into debt!

Try CLARK THEATRE SERVICE INC.
325 Huron Avenue, Suite B/POB 610727
PORT HURON, MI 48060
810-982-9935

That should be fairly local for you.
