Theresa is with U of Wisc Extension and they want to help small towns keep or restart theatres. She would like to send the plan to people for comments. It's pretty good and helpful for anyone thinking about a theatre. Write her and she'll forward it to you.

Hi Mike,

I've been working on
this section for a while, and feel like it's finally time to show this
to you. I realize and understand that you only want to get involved in
the marketing analysis tool if you feel it will be ov benefit to theatre
owners and operators. Please keep in mind that the audience of this
piece is probably geared more to chambers of commerce of smaller towns
or maybe those in a Main Street or economic development program for a
city than an individual owner/operator.

I know that this tool is still missing a lot, so I would definitely
appreciate any insight or feedback you can provide. When this section
is complete it will be available on the University of
Wisconsin-Extension's website.

Thanks in advance, and I hope you are well.

Theresa tells mne that six people have asked for copies to review. What do you think of the plan?

Nice piece of work. A lot of time and effort put into it. I would definitely consider using it as a guideline to finding my theatre purchase. I'd love to own a small theatre somewhere in WI. I'm tired of the big city life.

Within the Extension Service there is a Center for Community and Economic Development. It has a Downtown and Business District Market Analysis guide on its web site. Section 12 of that guide is Evaluating Theater Opportunities.
