TOPIC: Heating Efficiency

Heating Efficiency 01 Nov 2005 11:42 #11198

Hello,

Has anyone converted from oil to natural gas, using high efficiency boilers? I was quoted on needing (2) EK2s, for an existing building with approx 10,000 sq feet.

Curious to see what percentage the cost savings may be over the cold season.

I could install a corn furnace and save around 60-65% in heating. The installation for converting to corn or the natural gas units were approx $20,000.00 each. Thanks.

I would be very leery of projected cost savings figures, especially the corn burner; too many variables... You are likely to save with either, but like the EPA used to say, "your mileage may vary."...
