Okay I must be nuts but it looked cute and quirky. Should we have played it?

Good question, Mike.

I've was torn between "Sky High" and "Stealth". In the end, the powers that be here (my wife & our booker) decided on "Stealth", because we didn't want to torpedo "Charlie" (which has been doing very well).

Guess I'll hold my breath & wait for the grosses to come out!

I don't know. When I've seen the commercials for Sky High, I can't help but think of Shark Boy and Lava Girl and Thunderbirds, both of which didn't do so well at the box office. What I also find laughable about the movie is that in the commercials, they introduce the plot of the boy of superhero parents and the boy doesn't have any super powers, yet at the end of the commercial, they leak that his super powers are super strength. Seems sad that they have to give away a weak plot in a 30 second commerical; it certainly doesn't look promising.

Rottentomatoes says......... "Fresh"! ........ albeit not by much.

Therefore, it has passed stage one. Now we wait until Sunday to see if it passes the next hurdle.... large opening.

Saw it this afternoon with my 3 and 7 year-old and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not doing great business at my place but might pick up a bit by word-of-mouth. I liked this much more than Charlie and Chocolate Factory.

Stealth has done fairly well here. It didn't knock Charlie out of first place, but it wasn't exactly a dog either.

It could be that the turnout for this picture in my market is due to the fact that I have several military bases here. A non-military area, or one that's politically aligned against all things military might not do so well with the film.

Stealth is doing poorly here. I hope word of mouth gets out that it is actually a good movie. I liked it. Fantastic Four did alot more business and for a smaller percentage.

Slightly old topic...

I'm in a market with an old army base, but still a strong army presence.

Sky High did MUCH better, and we got rid of Stealth this past Wednesday (after it played in our smallest theater and had very poor draw). We still have Sky High playing, too.

I've seen Stealth... the military aspect of it is very minimal... it starts out with military, and sort of ends that way... but, its more a man v. machine deal.

As you all have probably seen.. as the movie's been out for a few weeks.
