We're having nicely embroidered hats made with that outstanding tecno-industril "Brenkert" logo on black hats. They'll be for sale and for gifts. Do you know the logo I'm talking about?

I want one!

In Telluride all the technicians are members of the "Carl Brenkert Socety." I am not a member because I am but a lowly projectionist. In response we have formed the "Hortson Socety." but that isn't as glam because that's only 16mm.

If they are cool, I may have to purchase 35 of them for the boys in Telluride. We'll communicate privatly via email.

Must get more swag!

Gimme-gimme-gimme! MUST HAVE ONE! Brenkert is the best.
That hat would go great with my FULLY RESTORED BRENKERT BX-60 projector.

I also post on the Motion Picture Exhibitor's Forum under the handle of "Brenkert".

All of my research says that Brenkert's copyright is no longer in effect. Anyone else have any thoughts?

To the best of my knowledge, Brenkert Light Projection Company was purchased by RCA in approx. 1952. Brenkerts were distributed by RCA for many years prior to that. That's why you see alot of Brenkert projectors mounted to RCA soundheads.

RCA then closed their theater equipment division in 1959 (which I believe is also the same year Motiograph closed their doors). So it's a cinch that the logo and all their manuals (which probably were never copyrighted anyway) are in the public domain.

I've always felt that somebody should make high quality reprints of all the Brenkert projector manuals (BX-40, BX-80, BX-60, BX-62, & BX-100).
