Charlie is more family oriented small towns and Fantastic Four in bigger urban markets.
They will both have big opening weekends!

Both pictures will not meet expectations in my opinion. Fantastic Four has very poor star power in it and the teaser trailer, standee and poster I have in my place are generating very little "buzz". Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will suffer the word of mouth of Tim Burton's last "re-imagining", Planet of the Apes which quickly faded once folks got a look at it opening weekend. Now if you would like to talk about some sleepers- Wedding Crashers, Must Love Dogs and The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3-D are titles I'm betting on. What say all of you?

Saw the Shark Boy and Lava Girl trailer on Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It would take a lot of convincing to get me to book that one. Haven't seen anything I hated that much in quite a while. Even the audience was not impressed. Audible comments included "They must have run out of ideas." Now on the other hand, I would be much more interested in Must Love Dogs. I understand that it is going limited however.

I was thinking about Shark-Boy but Miramax is way behind in the marketing machine for it. I can't see it doing very well unless they wake up soon, and very aggressively. I think Must Love Dogs looks great and should do well here, too. Wedding Crashers........geez, I can't figure out if that one is going to be hilarious, or stupid (both is my guess).

I actually feel Charlie will do slightly better and Wedding Crashers does look fun. I have a sense that the Dukes of Hazzard may do well also.

How bout that new Deuce Bigelow too

Fantastic Four! As much as I like Depp, Charlie looks a little too off-centre for mass appeal.
"Must Love Dogs" looks good. Shark Boy looks low budget.
Wedding Crashers will do well.
