I read an article that Silent Movies are making a comeback. Small theaters are starting to spring up and are showing the silent flickers. I hadn't heard of this until I read the article on an online site. I was wondering if any of you were aware of this resurgence.

The Wilma Theater in Missoula, Montana has been doing silet movie shows for a long time now. They use a pair of Bell & Howell "FILMOARC" carbon arc 16mm projectors (which are equipped for silent speed) for most shows. Sometimes, if they get a 35mm print, they have a modified Simplex XL for silent speed.

For pictures of this setup and the theater, go to John Eickhof's NORTHWEST THEATRE EQUIPMENT website: www.nteequip.com and scroll down to the Wilma Theatre.

I have done many 16mm silent movie shows here locally with the great ANDY CROW playing the pipe organ with the film.
